Why are black women told to go natural but the only examples given are of biracial black girls or black girls with loose curls? Whereas, natural black girls like myself are invisible.
Although my hair type is EXTREMELY common. Probably the most common for black girls. I got forreal kinky hair. Nobody, not even naturalistas, want to see THIS hair natural without hella mess in it to alter or control it. Which seems no difference to me than putting a perm in it. Just because it ain’t straight doesn’t mean it’s “natural”.
And yet these pro-natural hair folks are the same women talmbout you hate your blackness if you got a weave in your hair.
Maybe less black girls would have weaves in their hair if being kinky/ nappy like me was even accepted in the natural world. If it was accepted anywhere.
